Mixed Metal Oxide Ruthenium-Iridium Coated Titanium Mesh Electrode with Holder - set of 10 pcs

Mixed Metal Oxide (MMO) Ruthenium-Iridium (Ru-Ir) coated titanium electrodes stand out due to their exceptional durability, outstanding conductivity, and stability in harsh environments. These characteristics make them crucial for a variety of industrial applications that demand high-performance electrochemical reactions. Our MMO coating offers low electrical resistance, ensuring high current efficiency and low overpotentials during electrochemical reactions. This is especially important in applications that require high performance, such as water splitting and electrochemical synthesis. The Ru-Ir coated titanium electrodes are stable over a wide range of voltages and can perform well in both acidic and alkaline environments. Ruthenium and iridium are both excellent catalysts for various electrochemical reactions, including oxygen evolution and hydrogen evolution reactions. This makes these electrodes very effective in applications like electrolysis.
This product, in a quantity of 10 pieces, is available with a basic sample holder, which works excellently as an electrical contact. It allows for full immersion of the electrode in the electrolyte without the risk of corrosion of the contact made from tantalum. Other contact metals are also available, and the list can be found on another product's page. Please get in touch with us if you wish to replace the tantalum contact with another metal. MMO Ru-Ir coated titanium electrodes are also available without the holder, in packs of 10 pieces. Make sure you select the correct option when applying for a quote.
Application note
MMO Ru-Ir coated titanium electrodes are widely used in electrochemical processes, including: a) water electrolysis for hydrogen production - the electrodes' high stability and catalytic properties make them ideal for both the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), b) chlor-alkali technology, where they facilitate the electrochemical production of chlorine and sodium hydroxide from brine, c) electrochemical sensors for monitoring various chemical reactions in both industrial and environmental applications, d) supercapacitors, where their excellent conductivity and corrosion resistance are essential for long-term performance, and, e) treatment of wastewater, particularly in processes like electrocoagulation and electrooxidation, where they help break down contaminants in the water.
