ModElChem® Advanced Simulation Software for Cyclic Voltammetry
ModElChem® is a powerful simulation tool from MODEL ONE designed to calculate cyclic voltammetry (CV) for 1e⁻ outer-sphere redox reactions. Built on the Poisson-Nernst-Planck equations, it accurately models both diffusion and migration, with a fully integrated supporting electrolyte system. The software includes three different 1e⁻ redox reactions and 21 supporting electrolytes, offering flexibility for various studies.
With an intuitive, user-friendly graphical interface, ModElChem® makes complex simulations simple to execute. It supports standard three-electrode setups, featuring a disk electrode as the working electrode, making it ideal for studying electrochemical reactions or validating experimental data. Results can be easily exported as text files or images for further analysis and sharing.
The operations of ModElChem® are based on an advanced Nernst–Planck–Poisson (NPP) model that effectively balances computational efficiency and accuracy, as detailed in the associated research paper. This model addresses common challenges in electrochemical modeling, including discrepancies in experimental CV curves, and offers a user-friendly simulator designed for ease of use, making sophisticated electrochemical analysis accessible to all researchers.

Application note
To run the application, COMSOL Runtime must be installed. During the first launch, COMSOL Runtime will be installed automatically, and this process only needs to be completed once. For more details, please refer to COMSOL Runtime. The software includes a complete user manual in English.
