The LED Solar Simulator is designed to provide natural sunlight (AM1.5G) in the wavelength range of 350 to 1050 nm. It assures controlled and repeatable laboratory conditions of spectral content, spatial uniformity and temporal stability for experiments meeting class AAA specifications (according to IEC 60904-9:2020 international standard). Unlike traditional solar simulators based on Xenon short-arc lamps and metal halide discharge lamps, this simulator uses high-power LED technology with the AM1.5G spectrum produced using an array of 11 LED wavelengths sufficiently spaced apart to provide uniform light (390, 450, 515, 600, 630, 660, 730, 850 and 950 nm, with additional cool white and warm white LEDs).

Application note
The LED Solar Simulator is not limited to a single application. Its versatility is evident in its typical applications, which include visible-light photocatalysis, artificial photosynthesis, and photo-electrochemical detection. The setup has been specifically designed to be used with redox.me photo-electrochemical cells. The cell position on the mounting rail is manually adjustable, ensuring optimum light focus on a sample.
A space-saving footprint and portable design allow for easy transport to different locations and seamless integration into any research setup. The LED source ensures a long operational lifetime with minimal maintenance, reducing downtime and operational costs.
The integrated software facilitates precise control and customization of the solar simulator's output. It allows users to adjust the aggregate power level and independently regulate each of the 11 LEDs, thus fine-tuning the output to exact specifications. This intuitive software can be installed on multiple PCs without restrictions, ensuring unrestricted access to forthcoming updates at no additional cost.
