Our management approach adheres to the LEAN philosophy, with a transformation underway towards a flat management structure, embracing the AGILE philosophy. At redox.me, we prioritise equality, knowledge accessibility, respect for beliefs, and support for self-development.

Position: Spectroscopy specialist
Redox.me is seeking a spectroscopy specialist to expand their capabilities in the realm of spectroelectrochemical instrumentation and methodology. You may be a chemist, physicist, or engineer; a spectroscopist with a penchant for building your own equipment or an electrochemist with a deep background in operando/in situ measurements and an idea on how to improve on the status quo; or something else entirely. The key is that you have a curious mind, relevant knowledge and skills with regard to analytical science coupled to expertise to build and test instrumentation, the capability to listen to a client and extract relevant information to create a product specification and the wherewithal to turn that specification into a product.

This role offers a varied workspace encompassing the office, laboratory, and workshop. In this position you will contribute to ongoing research projects as well as to the writing and execution of future projects and product development from redox.me. Initial tasks will include method AND instrument development and system integration for microspot reflectance spectroscopy in the UV-VIS-NIR region as well as Raman spectroscopy within microfluidic electrochemical chips. You may also contribute to the Horizon Europe PhotoSint project as well as to our planned Centre for Electrochemical Flow Systems and WIRA-SET initiatives.

This position is not for everyone. We prioritise breadth of knowledge across a range of analytical methods over deep specialisation in a single method. That is not to say that we do not value expertise, rather we require that you can demonstrate that you can translate you expertise beyond your specialisation. Beyond your core responsibility, you will contribute to the writing of research projects and to their execution as a member of an industrial partner team focusing on meeting milestones and deliverables and KPIs. You will perform applied research leading to product development and sometimes to publications. If Hirsch-index is a personally prioritised metric, then this may not be the right job for you, but if you enjoy the doing of things as much as the thinking of things and take pleasure in seeing your thoughts and actions realised as a tool in another researcher’s hands then redox.me is the place for you.

 Key Responsibilities:
- Perform method and instrument development within ongoing projects at redox.me.
- Innovate and adapt analytical instrumentation based on scientific requirements and customer feedback to create new products.
- Employ scientific and engineering principles to diagnose and remedy technical challenges.
- Ensure analytical equipment configurations meet or exceed safety standards.
- Foster clear communication with both suppliers and end-customers.

Location:
redox.me AB, Research & Development Department, Kopparhusen, Södra Grytsgatan 1A, 602 33 Norrköping, Sweden.

Qualifications:
-Graduate degree in chemistry, physics, materials science or related engineering/scientific fields. Alternatively, significant workplace experience demonstrating equivalent expertise.
- Experience developing and optimizing analytical tools and methods.
- A profound understanding of analytical science principles.
- Acute problem-solving abilities coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Excellent at collaborating and engaging in clear communication with team members.

Terms of Employment:
Selected candidates will undergo a trial day supervised by our specialist, whose feedback will be vital for hiring decisions. The position is full-time, becoming permanent after a probationary period of 6 months.

Start Date:
As soon as possible.

Salary & Benefits:
Competitive salary.
